· I & M Canal Kayak Paddle, August

Begin your summer with a relaxing paddle down the Illinois & Michigan
canal. This historic route, completed in 1848, was the last waterway link
to connect the Gulf of Mexico to the East Coast. Kayak for two days and
spend a night just off the canal in Gebhard Woods State Park. While traveling
through history, observe the flora and fauna that includes a variety wildflower
species, water foul, songbirds and much more. Enjoy the beautiful scenery
and warm weather on this weekend trip.

· Devil's Lake Climbing. July 20-21

Let your adventurous spirit soar atop the quartzite bluffs of Devil's
Lake State Park. Part of the Baraboo Range, these outcroppings were formed
approximately 1.5 billion years ago, making them some of the oldest bluffs
in North America. Climb a variety of routes with a wide range of difficulty
while enjoying the view of the massive 360-acre spring-fed lake. Spend
a weekend in Wisconsin's gem learning rock-climbing technique and experiencing
the serenity, which is Devil's Lake.

· White Water Kayaking: Red River,
July 13-14 or August 16-17
Imagine being able to have peaceful paddle in pristine water, and battle
whitewater rapids all in the same day. The first stop is at Boulder Lake
to learn the basics of paddling to familiarize everyone with their boats.
Then it's off to the Red to learn river basics and play in the rapids.
After camping out, spend day two running the river and surfing. Ranging
from flat-water to class 3, the Red River offers all that an entry-level
or amateur kayaker could ask for. Take this weekend trip and safely push
your personal limits by learning white water basics and crashing through
the rapids on the mighty Red River.

Enter the kayaking world with this easy day-trip down the DuPage River.
Learn the basic skills such as safety and paddle strokes on this introductory
level trip. Travel through Warrenville, Naperville, and Plainfield; watch

Groves.
